A Night at Casanovas

Casanova’s Games

Playing Games in the Lounge at Casanova

Casanovas has always been a local favourite amongst fun loving italian food indulging people. Its great menu at geat prices always goes down well with a few celebratory limoncello. With their not so new now but still extremely inviting bar and lounge area it’s always nice to relax and play a few games with some martinis or other cocktails before you eat.
My personal weakness at any Italian Restaurant is Spaghetti Carbonara, I can never get enough of that creamy Parmigiano-Reggiano flavour. We all started with some Carpacio which was very simple and yet very good. Lovely thin sliced pieces of beef in good supply covered in shaved Parmesan. It was perfect size in my opinion for two people to share. It’s not very filling but the amazing fresh baked bread rolls and mouth watering bruschetta do a good job of preparing your stomach for battle with the main course. As I mentioned earlier it takes something special to drag me away from my Carbonara, and unfortunately none of the specials managed to do that this time, but the varying pasta dishes that our group ordered were all very delicious and nothing but what you would expect. My carbonara was drenched in it’s sauce and the waiter was kind enough to leave me the Parmesan grinder at our table. This kept me happy for the very brief time it took me to suck and bite and generally demolish the pasta until the bowl was ready to be licked clean. Unfortunately there was one disappointment, the Tuna that was ordered as a special came out looking very tasty indeed. Laid aside a generous pile of mash potatoe and roast potatoes with the traditional Italian flat green beans and broccoli with carrots. The tuna looked nicely pan seared with brown tints to its flesh, unfortunately it came out over cooked and hence a bit dry and chewy. Not the ideal way to have Tuna served but the complimentary Happy Birthday sing song and round of limoncellos took our mind from that rather rapidly.
