It has been over a week now, one long busy week for the Blue Iguana Recovery Programme. They have been on the Radio, in the Newspapers, in the online forums but most of all in our thoughts. Already many people have gotten together to help out or raise fund. Do you want to help ?

Boatswain Beach has been loosing $500,000 a month is the news coming out recently, why is it still operating ? Surely this would then re-raise the question, why do dolphinariums ?

7 BLUE IGUANAS DEAD, the toll rises !

As of this morning another Iguana at the Blue Iguana Recovery Program has died. Matthias spent his last day doing what he loved, sunbathing in his tree, unfortunately his injuries proved to much as he passed just 3 days after the vicious and un yielding attacks.

The Gay Kiss in Cayman

When a majority of incomes come from Tourism you would hope that simple signs of affection wouldn’t bring about a ride downtown ! Unfortunately some idiots in the Cayman islands think differently.

$10,000 reward to catch the punks

It looks like with donation specifically for it there is a reward of maybe close to $10,000 to catch the little punks that murdered the Iguanas. Information must lead to an arrest or conviction I believe.

six SEVEN BLUE IGUANAS MURDERED IN BOTANIC PARK

SIX critically endangered Grand Cayman Blue Iguanas were killed by unknown persons late on Saturday evening, in the QE II Botanic Park. The crime was discovered by volunteers with the National Trust’s Blue Iguana Recovery Programme, shortly after 9am on Sunday morning. [Updates withRadio interviews and News links]

Batabano – A Colourful Carnival.

Due to a lot of things happening unexpectedly and a long day on the wrong side of the island Batabano was a miss for me this year. It was a shame as I do love the Carnival and love taking photos of it. So instead of posting some photos that I got from the event I thought I would highlight some that I found from a very talented local photographer called Luis Vallecillo.

Conch and Welch season closed

Conch and whelk–taking season ends Today May 1st, So remember any coch at restaurants is no longer fresh ! The open season for whelk and conch runs from 1 November to 30 April each year.
